SickKids researchers receive more than $19 million in CFI funding for research infrastructure

Researchers at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) will receive $19,772,922 in funding for research infrastructure under the Canada Foundation for Innovation's (CFI) Innovation Fund, announced this week by the Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Canada’s Minister of Science.

SickKids team receives $2.99 million USD from SU2C Catalyst program to develop combination therapy for most aggressive cancer predisposition syndrome

A team from SickKids, led by Dr. Uri Tabori, was recently awarded $2.99 million USD from Stand Up To Cancer, SU2C Catalyst® program to develop and investigate the optimal combination therapies for kids with the most aggressive childhood cancer predisposition syndrome called biallelic mismatch repair deficiency (bMMRD).

Through the eyes of teens with cancer: how a photography project helped SickKids’ teens fight cancer

Funded by the Garron Family Cancer Centre, the seven-week Photovoice program put a point-and-shoot camera in the hands of six teenagers in cancer treatment, aged 13 to 18. The teens took photos based on themes they came up with together (strength, fear, hope, struggle and true friendship).
