Biography

Dr. Jose Aldana joined The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) as a Staff Neonatologist with a cross-appointment in Paediatric Cardiology in 2024.

Dr. Aldana completed his medical degree at the University of Guanajuato, followed by a paediatric residency at the Hospital Infantil de Mexico, Federico Gomez, Mexico City. He subsequently pursued fellowship training in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at the University of Alberta as well as Transport Medicine and Paediatric Cardiology at SickKids. He is currently completing a MSc in Physiology at the University of Toronto. His clinical and research focus is on cardiac hemodynamics and pulmonary hypertension in infants.

Dr. Aldana's research interests include applying novel ultrasound techniques to understand the link between cardiovascular alterations and its impact in other systems.
