Biography

Dr. Daniel Rosenfield is a paediatric emergency medicine specialist at The Hospital for Sick Children and an Assistant Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Toronto. After completing his undergraduate degree at McMaster University, he completed his medical paediatric and paediatric emergency medicine training at the University of Toronto. After additional training in trauma and injury prevention, he went on to obtain a Masters in Health Informatics through the Dalla Lana School of Public Health. He is currently the site director for the Canadian Hospitals Injury Reporting and Prevention (CHIRPP) program, and maintains active research and quality improvement projects looking at paediatric trauma and injuries. In the informatics space, he is the lead for virtual care in the emergency department at SickKids, and is currently helping open and maintain the SickKids “Digital Front Door” virtual Urgent Care program.

  • 2018: President’s Award, Hospital for Sick Children. Award was given to the Epic Physician Advisory Group and Champions Group.
  • 2016: Sub-specialty Resident CanMEDS Award, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto & Hospital for Sick Children. This award is given to one subspecialty trainee in paediatrics at the University of Toronto who, in addition to Medical Expert, exemplifies the Non-medical Expert competencies embodied in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada CanMEDS 2005 Physician Competency Framework.
